Syracuse to Make 2 Appearances on ESPN Big Monday (PS; Waters)
The Syracuse Orange basketball team will make two appearances on ESPN's Big Monday during the 2014-15 season.
ESPN announced its complete slate of Big Monday games involving the Atlantic Coast Conference today. The network will televise eight ACC games on its Big Monday lineup.
On Jan. 26, Syracuse will play at North Carolina. The game will be at 7 p.m. on ESPN.
Syracuse will make its second Big Monday appearance on the final Big Monday game of the year when the Orange hosts Virginia at the Carrier Dome on March 2. That game will also be at 7 p.m. on ESPN.

Syracuse Basketball 'Most Hated' Program in Three States and DC. Hoyas Take NY (PS; Axe)

The latest map on college basketball shows Syracuse as the "most hated" team in Maine, Connecticut, and Rhode Island.
Washington D.C., home of the Hoyas, still hates Syracuse enough for the Orange to rank at the top of the list with 30% of the vote.
Duke, Kentucky and Kansas were also popular choices on the hate list, with each school taking several states.

ACC Non-Conference Assessment: BC Faces More Manageable Task (PS; Stevens)
With nonconference basketball schedules trickling out, it's time to give each ACC program's decision-making a thorough scrubbing. Who is doing itself a service with the NCAA tournament selection committee, and who is leaving itself vulnerable? Up today is Boston College.
When is it OK to load up half of a nonconference schedule with games a team has no business losing? Well, at least one example of that is when you're coming off an 8-24 season that got your old coach fired.
Such is life at Boston College, where Jim Christian takes over for Steve Donahue. Christian's first team will probably take some lumps in nonconference play, but there's a good chance it enters league play at or even above .500 and feeling somewhat decent about itself. Why is that relevant? The Eagles didn't spend a day above .500 last year and on only rare occasions felt good about themselves.

Judging By Recent Photos, Carmelo Has Lost a Lot of Weight (PS; Ditota)
Carmelo Anthony appears to be keeping up with the Jameses.
A week after LeBron James posted photos of himself looking relatively gaunt, Anthony took to Instagram to show off his new physique.
The New York Knicks star looks positively svelte in the (above) photo, which he captioned "Gran sesión de entrenamiento de hoy #thisisme7o" That's the Spanish equivalent of "Great training session today."
It's not the first time the former Syracuse superstar made an effort to shed pounds. In Denver, he resorted to a diet that consisted mostly of protein shakes, raw juices, fruits and vegetables. Two summers ago, extra conditioning apparently resulted in Anthony slimming down to 239 pounds.
