Cafe Kubal
From 3 to 4 p.m., all three Cafe Kubal shops will host a free coffee tasting and information session. Baristas at each site will pour several different coffees, and talk about the different bean sources (farms and regions) and the various roasts. All week, Kubal will also offer a free small coffee if you buy a bag of roasted coffee.
When: Monday, September 29 from 3 to 4 p.m.

Freedom of Espresso

Oprah Winfrey, one of television's most renowned celebrities, is coming to Syracuse today.
Winfrey will be in town to attend the dedication of a newly-renovated building at Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.
Newhouse 2, which opened in 1974 to house the school's broadcast journalism department, has just had studios and other features updated with the latest in broadcast and recording equipment. The $18 million improvements were made with help from two major contributors, $5 million each from the Dick Clark Foundation, named after the late "American Bandstand" icon, and from Alan Gerry, who made his fortune as owner of the nation's eighth-largest cable TV company.
