SU Basketball: A New Year, Same Expectations (Photos From Practice; PS; Nett)
A new year starts for the Syracuse men's basketball team. The expectations are the same as every year: An invitation to the NCAA tournament.
This year's crop is without four players who contributed a lot of minutes last year: Tyler Ennis, Jerami Grant, C.J. Fair and Baye Moussa Keita. The Orange do have two freshman they may rely on, Kaleb Joseph and Chris McCullough.
A couple of the holdovers to be counted on are Rakeem Christmas and Trevor Cooney.
Head coach Jim Boeheim will look for somebody to step up offensively from this group.
We'll see what happens.

Points - Trevor Cooney
The Orange lost their top three scorers from last year, which should make it easy for Cooney to emerge as the leading scorer after after averaging 12 points per game last year. There's a chance that Michael Gbinije or Tyler Roberson has a breakout year and becomes the leading scorer or that freshman Kaleb Joseph becomes the go-to scorer for the Orange, but with the way Cooney shoots the ball, he'll likely lead the way.
