[B]SYRACUSE, N.Y. – [/B][URL='http://cuse.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=12740'][U]Zaire Franklin[/U][/URL] of the Syracuse football team and Laura Hurff of the 'Cuse field hockey team are this week's Orange Scholar Athletes of the Week.
 
Franklin is a dual major in finance and marketing management in the Martin J. Whitman School of Management. A native of Philadelphia, Pa., Franklin is actively involved with the Syracuse University chapter of Uplifting Athletes and is a member of the Syracuse Student –Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). 
 
On the field, Franklin has appeared in all 25 games of his career, starting the last 16 contests. Voted the fourth sophomore captain in team history and first since 1945, Franklin led the team in tackles with 81 and ranked second in tackles for loss (11) in 2015. Franklin earned a spot on the Syracuse University Athletic Director's Honor Roll three of his four semesters and was a member of the All-ACC Academic Team and ACC Honor Roll in 2014.
