Celebrate the day by eating asparagus! Eat it raw, steamed, boiled, or in a soup. There are many recipes you could try. You could grow your own—there are many varieties of asparagus you could cultivate. One of the most popular is called Mary Washington. Asparagus also grows in the wild, and you could go searching for some. If purchasing fresh asparagus at a store, pick out firm stalks that are bright green or pale ivory, with light tips. If you can't eat the asparagus right away, you can extend its life by about four days by wrapping it tightly in a plastic bag and placing it in a refrigerator, or by standing the stalks up in a container with about an inch of water, and covering the container with a plastic bag.

Louisville, Kentucky join battle for Ballard football star Jared Casey (courier-journal; Hale)
The 2019 class was already considered a banner recruiting year for Kentucky high school football and the city of Louisville.
It has gotten even better recently with the emergence of Ballard linebacker Jared Casey, who picked up scholarship offers from Louisville, Kentucky, Syracuse and Oregon in the last week.
“The opportunity to finally play in my hometown and an opportunity to stay in state and play for Kentucky means a lot to me,” Casey said in a phone interview shortly after picking up the Louisville offer Tuesday.
Grateful to say that I have received an offer from my HOMETOWN The University of Louisville

Purdue offered Casey last June and Cincinnati followed in October, but a shoulder injury cost him his entire junior season and left him flying under the radar compared to some of the city’s other top prospects.

Could Syracuse Pursue More Carrier Dome Renovations? - Football Stadium Digest (footballstadiumdigest.com; Spedden)
Additional improvements could follow upcoming renovations to the Carrier Dome, as Syracuse University officials are showing an interest in doing more to the facility.
Earlier this week, Syracuse University announced that it is moving forward with major changes to the Carrier Dome. That includes plans for a new roof, new videoboard, improved lighting and sound, and upgraded Wi-Fi for 2020, with new air conditioning, concessions, and restrooms to follow in 2022.
All of these changes will affect the fan experience for sports hosted at the Carrier Dome, including football. Syracuse.com recently took a thorough look at the renovation in comparison to similar projects around college football, and found that one area Syracuse University is not placing an immediate emphasis on is premium seating.
While premium seating–a major trend around college sports, particularly football–is not mentioned as part of the first round of renovations, Syracuse officials admit that they could be interested in completing more upgrades down the road. There is no timeline for a second round, however. More from Syracuse.com:
University officials have indicated a desire to do more, which likely includes the enhancement and addition of premium seating and amenities, but with no timetable for a second round of renovations, it appears it will be at least five years before any headway is made.
“There is an appetite to continue to do more,” Syracuse Athletic Director John Wildhack said, “and we have a menu that our teams work from, and it’s all designed to enhance the fan experience.”

SU alumna Ashley I. dating 'Bachelor in Paradise' co-star, finally (photos) (PS; Herbert)
Syracuse University alumna Ashley Iaconetti is back in the spotlight after revealing she's dating a "Bachelor in Paradise" co-star.
Iaconetti first made a name for herself as Ashley I., the self-proclaimed virgin on "The Bachelor" when she competed for "Prince Farming" Chris Soules' heart on season 19 of the reality dating show in 2015. She built a following with her flair for the dramatic, crying nonstop after being rejected by ex-"Bachelorette" hunk Jared Haibon on ABC's spinoff series, "Bachelor in Paradise," a year later.
But has she finally found love?
Iaconetti, 30, and Haibon, 29, revealed that they're dating in a lengthy video posted Tuesday on her YouTube series about relationships called "The Story of Us." Then they made their red carpet debut as a couple later that night in Los Angeles, holding hands and kissing at the annual Nylon Young Hollywood Party.
