Welcome to National Wig Out Day!

Have you ever wanted to dye your hair a different color or try out a new hairstyle, but were too scared to take the risk? Well, today is your opportunity to experiment. It’s National Wig Out Day! This celebration is similar to Halloween, but the focus is just on wigs.

Wig Out Day was invented in 2006 by Kate and Alice Clark. The sisters were able to inspire the residents of Bellingham, Washington to go to work wearing all different types of crazy wigs and then gather downtown at the end of the day for a party. Since then, Wig Out Day has grown and spread throughout the nation.

So go ahead and stop by your local wig shop or shop for wigs online. Your wig can be anything from a mullet to a 70’s style afro. Whatever you decide to wear on your head, just be sure to Wig Out!

Syracuse Football: Orange make cut for pair of Florida stars (itlh.com; Carey)

The Syracuse football team is getting love from some talented Florida recruits. ITLH breaks down the latest and what this could mean.
The Syracuse football coaching staff has been busy on the recruiting trail as of late.

Although they only have reeled in one commitment for the class of 2019 thus far, plenty of athletes continue to tweet out their offers and top schools, which Syracuse is making with consistency.

Cornelius Nunn Jr.
The first player the Orange have made the cut for is Cornelius Nunn, a 3-star priority target hailing from the Sunshine State. According to 247sports, Nunn is rated the 595th best player in the class and 54th best athlete. And the Orange are trending in the right direction for this prospect.

Nick Monroe, the Syracuse secondary coach is handling the primary recruiting duties for Nunn, as he has deep ties to Florida. In addition to that, Nunn projects best as a safety in the college game and beyond. The Miami Palmetto player has offers from Auburn, Georgia, and Nebraska among others.

At 6-foot and 170-pounds, Nunn will have to put on some muscle at the next level, but his 4.50 40-yard dash time will make him an effective ACC defensive back. Nunn runs a no fly zone in the secondary, and what he lacks in weight he makes up for in length as he is able to break up passes easily.

Hello, Wisconsin! Pitt, Big Ten Power agree to home-and-home series (triblive.com; DiPaola)

Making a move she all but promised earlier this year, Pitt athletic director Heather Lyke on Thursday announced a home-and-home football series with a school other than Penn State.

After Penn State showed no willingness to renew the Pitt series that expires next year with the 100th game between the longtime rivals, Lyke told reporters she had a Plan B.

Plan B became a reality Thursday when Pitt announced a two-game series with Wisconsin in 2026 and 2027. First game on Sept. 19, 2026, at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison; second game Sept. 11, 2027, at Heinz Field.
