UNC won a bunch of close games last year over bad teams but have by no means established themselves as a strong program.  Maybe someday, with the good recruiting Mac is doing, they will become a good program.  This is not a given.

VT has been solidly mediocre for a while now.

Miami is crappy year after year.

FSU is a shattered program.  Taggart did major damage to a program that was already in trouble.  The new coach might make a difference but major changes in culture usually take time.

UL is probably the best of the rest and I am by no means sold on them.  They had absolutely no defense last year and there is little indication that is going to change soon.  Their good record is more a reflection of how weak the ACC was last year, much like SU's was the previous season.

To me, Pod A is clearly the worst pod.  No top 25 teams, and Duke and GT might be the worst programs in the league.
