Everett Golson Has Got It Going On
Syracuse vs Notre Dame Preview (CBSSports.com)
Everett Golson playing mistake-free football is a major reason why Notre Dame is off to an unbeaten start.
Syracuse's bid to stay perfect heading into this matchup ended thanks to turnovers and other miscues.
These teams meet for the first time in six seasons Saturday night, and the eighth-ranked Fighting Irish and Orange will both be looking to win for the first time at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.
Golson has thrown for 780 yards, seven touchdowns and no interceptions while also scoring four times on the ground for Notre Dame after sitting out last season due to an academic suspension. The Fighting Irish (3-0) are tops in the nation in turnover margin and red-zone offense.
"Everett's a great football player," Syracuse coach Scott Shafer said. "We knew that he had a year off last year and now all of a sudden, he's back.

Syracuse Regroups with No. 8 Notre Dame Up Next (AP; Kekis)
Coming off a disheartening home loss, Syracuse plays a nationally televised prime-time game in a key recruiting area.
The Orange face No. 8 Notre Dame in a neutral-site matchup Saturday night at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, the home of the New York Giants and Jets.
It's a big game for both teams, but for Syracuse it's especially huge. The Orange (2-1) are listed as 12-point underdogs against the Irish (3-0), who are coming off a bye week.
"It's human nature to actually enjoy being the underdog," coach Scott Shafersaid Tuesday. "It's a great opportunity to go play under the lights in New Jersey. It's what you want."
Last Saturday, Syracuse outgained Maryland by 220 yards (589-369), rushing for a season-high 370 while holding the Terrapins to just 89.
The Orange still lost 34-20.
