Scott Shafer is starting his weekly teleconference. Said team has shortened practice a bit during this stretch of nine straight games.

Shafer said AJ Long has finished with Clemson film and is on to NC State.

Shafer on CB Brandon Reddish: "There's no such thing as cover corners in our program. You have to be physical, and Brandon's just that."

Shafer said he was pleased with the way freshman LB Zaire Franklin played against Clemson.

Shafer said he feels bad for WR Keenan Hale having to stop playing due to injuries. "Tough situation, but it'll make him stronger."

Shafer said QB Terrel Hunt is still in a boot, working his way back day by day. Said 4-6 weeks can be 4-8, even then that's not game ready. Shafer didn't provide a timeline, but mentioned that bone breaks, compared to soft tissue injuries, tend to take longer to return from.
 
Shafer said he though Sean Hickey played above average against Vic Beasley. We'll have a film review on that coming later today.
