Cam Lynch Eyes Graduate School, Future Career in Sports Broadcasting (PS; Bailey)
Syracuse senior linebacker Cameron Lynch plans on making a run at the NFL after this season, but he's already starting to eye his future after football.
Lynch is taking his Graduate Record Examination on Wednesday with the intention to study sports broadcasting.
He said his focus now is on trying to win the last three games of the Orange's season, but his priorities afterward include the NFL and grad school, possibly at Syracuse's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.
"We'll see how that goes and have grad school play off of that," Lynch said when asked about his NFL aspirations. "However long that lasts for, then I'll have grad school play right off that."

Darius Kelly Excels in Star Role in SU's Okie Package in Passing Situations (DO; Blum)
Darius Kelly is a defensive back.
It’s where he played throughout his first two years at Pima (Arizona) Community College. It’s what he’s listed as on Syracuse’s roster. And it’s where he lines up in practice and games when the Orange is in its base 4-3 set.
But when SU forces opponents into a third-and-long passing situation, Kelly has to be a little more than that.
“I’m basically that extra linebacker and safety,” Kelly said. “I wouldn’t say it’s difficult, I would just say it’s a different look.”
Kelly plays the “star” position in the Okie package, which features three linebackers behind the defensive line, two cornerbacks on the edges and three safeties in the secondary. Syracuse’s defense implements the Okie in late-down passing situations and Kelly is the 11th man whose spot isn’t defined. Kelly can line up on either side of the line of scrimmage — sometimes he blitzes and sometimes he’s in coverage.

Unfinished Journey; The Story of Siriki Diabate (DO; Dougherty)
Siriki Diabate and his mother stood in the outdoor marketplace across from her home in Abidjan, Ivory Coast and watched as up to 18 people were slain in the street. He looked across at the city’s French bookstore. The owner was being beaten while products were ripped off his shelves.
The marketplace was ransacked as the scene turned into a riot. Just minutes ago, the city was as innocent as Siriki’s 10-year-old eyes. That night a law was put in place that kept everyone in Abidjan indoors after dark for at least two weeks.
The Ivory Coast was on the doorstep of a civil war that would tear the country at its seams and Siriki was growing up at the center of it.
“It was no way for a child to live,” Siriki, now 23, says wincing. “No way at all.”

UL-BC and Duke-SU Highlight Week 11 in the ACC (SI; AP)
A look at things to watch in the Atlantic Coast Conference during Week 11 of the season:
GAME OF THE WEEK: Louisville at Boston College. The weekend's only matchup of bowl-eligible teams should help determine the Atlantic Division's third-best team behind No. 2 Florida State and No. 19 Clemson. Eagles QB Tyler Murphy is the nation's leading rusher among quarterbacks and should provide a test for a Cardinals defense that is the league's toughest against the rush, allowing an average of 79 yards on the ground. Louisville coach Bobby Petrino says Murphy ''challenges our discipline with our eyes, and our discipline with our gap control in our assignments.''
BEST MATCHUP: Duke's offense vs. Syracuse's defense. The Coastal Division-leading Blue Devils put up 438 total yards and 51 points in their double-overtime road victory at Pittsburgh. Now they're headed to the Carrier Dome for the first time to take on an Orange defense that hasn't allowed that many yards to a team outside the Top 10. Syracuse has held its last three opponents (Wake Forest, Clemson and N.C. State) to 47 points - total.

3-Star DB Robinson Explains His Decommitment From Syracuse (DO; Schneidman)
Gerald Robinson didn’t think Syracuse was holding up its end of the bargain.
“I felt that they should have been calling me once a week,” Robinson said in a text message to The Daily Orange on Tuesday.
Instead, Robinson said, the Orange texted him once a month and he decommitted from Syracuse’s Class of 2015 on Tuesday morning. The three-star cornerback from Champagnat Catholic (Florida) High School attributed the change in attention from SU to the Oct. 4 demotion of wide receivers coach George McDonald, who was his main recruiter and the team’s offensive coordinator when Robinson pledged to the Orange in April.
Robinson did say that Syracuse is still very much in the picture of schools he is considering.
“After everything was going on with Coach McDonald, it seems like some coaches started falling back from me,” Robinson said in a text message. “They knew he would have an impact on the Florida guys.
