BC vs Syracuse Orange Eagle Trophy Updates: Syracuse Surges Ahead of Eagles 31-20 (bcinterruption.com; invisible swordsman)
As of November 11, the score stands at 30-21. Let's see how we got there:
October 31, ACC Cross Country Championships
Men's Cross Country: SU (32 points - ACC Champions), BC (435 points)
During the 2013-2014 Orange Eagle Competition, SU took hold of the lead at the ACC Cross Country Championships and never looked back, as both the men's and women's teams walked away with victories over BC. The victories were highlighted by SU's first-ever ACC championship, which carried valuable OET bonus points.
In 2014, the SU men repeated their feat in convincing style on a fast course in Charlottesville. Led by ACC individual champion Martin Hehir, and 3rd-placed finisher Max Straneva, The Orange laid waste to the ACC field grabbing 5 of the top 11 places for an amazing 32-point performance and 12 Orange Eagle points.
Women's Cross Country: BC (162 points*), SU (162 points) * BC wins by having highest-paced individual finisher
162 - 162. In what will likely go down in the annals as the closest ever OET matchup, BC and SU literally matched each other stride-for-stride during the 2014 ACC Championship. The difference between the two teams was a 5'5" bundle of French fabulousness--Liv Westphal--who broke the tie by doing nothing other than winning the individual ACC title in a blazing 19:43, 14 seconds faster than the second-place finisher. SU's Margo Malone finished third, but it was Westphal's performance that muted SU's XC dominance and grabbed the Eagles a valuable 6 OET points in the process.

Week 12 Predictions: Florida State Will Seal Atlantic Division Title Against Miami (PS; Stevens)
There's a limited amount of drama remaining at the top of the ACC. This weekend figures to reduce it even more.
Florida State can wrap up the Atlantic Division with a victory over Miami. And if that happens, a Duke victory would hand the Blue Devils a scenario whereby they need only a split of their last two games to secure the Coastal Division.
Expect both to happen during another abbreviated Saturday schedule …
Virginia Tech at Duke (Saturday, Noon, ESPNU): Virginia Tech didn't look capable of beating anyone of consequence in the three weeks sandwiched between its bye weeks. Coming out of an open date, there's not much reason to think that has changed as the Hokies head to Durham. Duke 26-17.
Clemson at Georgia Tech (Saturday, Noon, ESPN): This has a chance to be one of the most fun games in the conference all season. The Yellow Jackets have won three in a row, their offense is especially efficient and they are about as well-suited to handle facing both Clemson and Georgia (their last two opponents) as they have been in a while.

Henninger QB Romero Collier Celebrates Black Knight Victory. Might Be Playing at the Dome a Few More Times in the Future...
Security Concerns Kept Henninger-Liverpool Fans Separated at Dome Last Weekend (PS; Weidner)
A barricade at Sunday's sectional football championship game in the Carrier Dome kept fans from Henninger and Liverpool separated inside the Syracuse University arena.
Gabrielle Bidwell, a Liverpool High School graduate, wonders why she and her father, a teacher at Henninger, weren't allowed to walk back and forth between the two sides of the arena on Sunday night.
Bidwell, who has a younger brother who attends Liverpool, sat on the Henninger side with her dad. Her brother sat with the Liverpool fans.
The LeMoyne College student said she and her father were stopped at halftime at a barricade in the Dome's main concourse when they attempted to walk over and give her brother some money for a snack. Security officials wouldn't let them cross, even after Bidwell's father explained the situation, so they had to have her brother meet them at the barricade.
After the game, a 44-7 Henninger victory, the Bidwells again were stopped when they tried to pick up Gabrielle's brother for the drive home.

Will Cortaca Week Mayhem Repeat This Week? (PS; Tobin)
With their Cortaca Jug football showdown this weekend, Ithaca College and SUNY Cortland officials aim to prevent a repeat of last year's drunken bedlam leading up to and following the game.
Hours before and after last year's Nov. 16 game in Ithaca, things in Cortland got so out of hand that the city had to call in the state Emergency Management Office and state troopers to help control crowds.
A crowd of nearly 6,000 filled Clayton Avenue - a long hill lined with old houses that
have been converted into student apartments - for a street party that saw cars
tipped on their side, students leaping from roofs and furniture thrown into the
street. In all, 80 people were arrested. Of those, 19 were SUNY Cortland students.
