Welcome to National IPA Day!
Founded in 2011 by beer evangelists and social media personalities Ashley Routson and Ryan Ross, IPA Day is a universal movement created to unite the voices of craft beer enthusiasts, bloggers, and brewers worldwide, using social media as the common arena for connecting the conversation together.
IPA Day is not the brainchild of a corporate marketing machine, nor is it meant to serve any particular beer brand. IPA Day is opportunity for all breweries, bloggers, businesses and consumers to connect and share their love of craft beer. It is an opportunity for the entire craft beer culture to combine forces and advocate craft beer through increased education and global awareness.
Getting involved is easy; the only requirements are an appreciation for great beer and the will to spread the word. Anyone can participate by enjoying IPA with friends, making some noise online with the #IPADay hashtag, and showing the world that craft beer is more than a trend.
How to Participate in IPA Day
1. Organize an IPA Day event at your brewery, brewpub, restaurant, bar, bottle shop, home, or office. Share your events Post your events to the CraftBeer.com Event Calendar.
2. On August 2nd, share your photos, videos, blog posts, tasting notes, recipes, and thoughts with the world. Be sure to tag your posts on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, Google+, and other social media platforms with #IPADay hashtag.
3. See what other people are saying on Twitter by searching “#IPADay” at: search.twitter.com. Follow the conversation closely by adding an #IPADay search column on your Tweetdeck.
4. Become a craft beer steward in your community. Encourage non-craft beer drinkers to take a break from their normal beverage routine and join the collective toast on August 2nd. Set the goal of converting at least one person, if not the whole world of drinkers, into an IPA lover!

Bo Peek
Stephen Bailey Tabs Colon, Peek, Burrell Among Biggest Names Remaining on SU Football's Recruiting Board for the Class of 2016 (thejuice; podcast; Cheng)
Here are the highlights from the show:
Wes Cheng: One of the articles you wrote after Moe Neal committed to Syracuse was about Neal trying to flip Penn State commit Christian Colon to the Orange. How likely is that?
Stephen Bailey: Christian Colon is definitely a name to pay attention to as Syracuse rounds out this 2016 class. He’s been friends with Moe Neal and Robert Washington since before high school. They’ve talked about playing together. I haven’t spoken with Christian since Moe said he’s going to try to flip him toward Syracuse. To me the most interesting thing is that James Franklin would pull his offer if he went to visit another school. So that will be the tell tale sign if you see Christian setting up visits to other schools.
WC: Besides Colon, who else could fill out this Syracuse class?
SB: They’ll be three more guys in the rest of the class. Maybe four. The key for 2016 is keeping under the 85 cap on their roster. Eric Burrell, a safety out of Maryland, he was really impressed with his unofficial visit this weekend. I think we’ll see him take an official visit. Cycoby Burch and Devon Clarke, defensive backs from Florida, those may be on the back burner if Syracuse doesn’t get Burrell, but I think Syracuse will definitely add another defensive back. Syracuse will probably want to add another defensive tackle. If not Colon, Bo Peek, a defensive tackle from Tampa, currently committed to Stanford. The interesting thing about him is that he’s transferring to Plant High School where Syracuse commits Rex Culpepper and Scoop Bradshaw already play. He’ll probably have a couple of Syracuse guys in his ear. That would be a big pick-up for Syracuse.

Why Isn't Anyone Selling Orange SU Football Jerseys? (TNIAAM; Pregler)
I would like to purchase a new Syracuse University orange football jersey.
As our own John Cassillo once wrote, they are FIRE EMOJI. As a new alumni who loves my Alma Mater, I would like to purchase one, ASAP preferably. So I decide to email the Syracuse University Bookstore and inquire on such matters, as they have helped me many times in the past.
Ok. Not the end of the world. Let's go check Cuse.com Shop, like I was instructed.
Hmmm.
Okay.
This looks exactly like Fanatics... oh wait, because it is. SU Athletics doesn't have their own online shop anymore.
So here's the deal: It sure looks like the orange Nike jerseys aren't going to be easy to find. Manny's doesn't have them listed and sometimes Shirt World gets Nike gear in limited quantity but we're moving beyond that now.
This is the jersey that Syracuse's traditionally-inept marketing department is using to market the 2015 Football Season. This is the jersey that made Syracuse fans momentarily forget about the fact that we got #BRAND-tastic jerseys while Illinois got the jerseys we all wanted. And what I'm seeing that is while Nike rolls out all of their new 2015 College Football Gear, this one specific piece of merchandise that Syracuse fans (arguably) care about most is not available?
There are three possible scenarios here, none of them great.

Where in the World is Former SU OL Coach Greg Adkins? Stillwater Oklahoma (stwnewspress.com; Steckley)
There is something about August rolling around that brings more optimism than any other month.
College football is back, NFL training camps are underway and high schoolers are gearing up for the season. Everybody is 0-0 and every goal seems within reach.
The Oklahoma State Cowboys opened preseason camp Tuesday, officially kicking off the 2015 season. Players are excited, coaches are excited, the media are excited and, of course, fans are excited.
For my part, I can’t wait to spend my Friday’s covering area football teams, my Saturday’s at Boone Pickens Stadium and my Sunday’s at Buffalo Wild Wings watching my Detroit Lions and monitoring my fantasy football teams.
It’s a great time of year.
And what should add to the enthusiasm felt by Cowboy fans isn’t the promise of Mason Rudolph or the relief of coach Mike Gundy and Boone Pickens’ reunion. Rather, it should be what these new assistant coaches bring to the table.
Gundy hired six new faces to be a part of the program, and they all bring a fresh and passionate voice to Stillwater.
Like Greg Adkins, the new offensive line coach. He spent two years coaching tight ends at the Buffalo Bills and was at Syracuse before that. He knows his football. I talked to him for more than 10 minutes about the intricacies of coaching the offensive line. As he explained his philosophy, his voice boomed. I could feel his intensity. At 6-foot-1, 185 pounds, no one would ever mistake me for a lineman. But man, would I love to play for him.
