Check out the Raspberry Pi Model B+. You could also plug it in HDMI to your tv, plug in a USB keyboard and mouse, and surf the web from a “computer” that fits in your pocket. And with 4 million Raspberry Pi’s sold since its inception in 2012, there is a huge online community. * Programming became cool when President Obama and a host of celebrities joined in on code.org SU News Potential Impact of New SU RB Coach Mike Hart (TNIAAM; Cassillo) As a former running back himself -- and a pretty good one at that -- new Syracuse Orange running backs coach Mike Hartobviously brings some expertise to the role. But beyond his knowledge of the position, the newest member of Dino Babers's SU staff might also be able to bring some recruiting names along with him. The appeal of Hart is two-fold. Not only is he a local kid that went on to great things (at Michigan, but bear with me). But he's a recent story of success at the running back position, and one that was taking handoffs in the NFL not too long ago. For kids looking to find success at running back, at both the collegiate and pro level, having a guy like Hart on staff at least has you look again at Syracuse. You may recall how this worked for the Orange when fellow Michigan great Tyrone Wheatley held the same role... Hart's early in his career, of course, but has already contributed to the recruiting and/or careers of Western Michigan standouts like Jarvion Franklin, Jamauri Bogan and LeVante Bellamy. In 2015, the three Broncos backs combined for 2,221 yards and 23 scores. In 2014, Franklin was the best running back in the MAC, with over 1,500 yards and 24 TDs on his own. Next year, the star trio is set to be joined by former 4-star (now 3-star) Michigan rusher Matt Falcon. The Southfield senior's season was cut short by a knee injury back in September. He was once committed to the Wolverines, but went with Hart and WMU over offers from a whole host of power programs. While Falcon and fellow Broncos commit Emanuel Jackson are both three-star prospects, Falcon is the one swimming in power conference offers, and is the likely target if there is one, despite the injury. ... But that's not holding us back from projecting the new SU defense either, which we take a swing at today. After a year of youth all around, the SU defense actually brings back a ton of experience this season -- outside of the defensive line, which should frighten you quite a bit. But the rest of the unit? Veterans, at this point, despite the various struggles experienced in 2015. There weren't nearly the same number of discrepancies when compiling the defensive depth chart as there were yesterday for the offense. But still, you'll find projections from our three-writer panel (Sean, Brandon and myself), followed by some explanations too. That's pretty far out, but it shouldn't prevent us from looking ahead to the 2016 campaign, SU's first under new head coach Dino Babers. We start with the offensive depth chart. While the Orange return nearly every skill player on that side of the ball, there's still some questions that come with a new coaching staff and how they'll utilize everybody on the roster. Those questions at least partially explain the various discrepancies from our three-writer panel, Sean, Brandon and myself. Below is how the depth chart shakes out, based on majority decisions. Then, we provide some explanations about where indecision may exist. Position Starter Reserve 1 QB Eric Dungey (So.) Wilson/Mahoney/Culpepper RB Jordan Fredericks (So.) An Updated List of Candidates (nydailynews.com; Vacchiano) The potential list of coaches that could succeed Tom Coughlin as coach of the Giants seems to be changing every day. Here is the latest list: Ben McAdoo, Giants offensive coordinator It might be tough to sell fans on replacing a legendary coach with one of his assistants, but Eli Manning has made it clear he endorses the idea. The Giants also would prefer to stay in-house, and John Mara has told people he views McAdoo as a future head coach. Steve Spagnuolo, Giants defensive coordinator He’s got head coaching experience (with the Rams) and plenty to prove, but his last two terms as defensive coordinator were disastrous. He’s one of Mara’s all-time favorite Giants assistants, but he has a lot of explaining to do first about the NFL’s worst defense. Adam Gase, Bears offensive coordinator A rising young star in NFL circles, he worked wonders with the Broncos offense in 2013-14. Of course, he had Peyton Manning there. The Bears offense wasn’t great this season, but quarterback Jay Cutler had one of his finest statistical years. Sean McDermott, Panthers defensive coordinator He’s a longtime Eagles assistant who is also a candidate there and comes with the strong recommendation of Panthers GM and former Giants executive Dave Gettleman. His Panthers defense has finished in the top 10 in each of the last four years. Doug Marrone, Jaguars assistant head coach The Bronx native was briefly a candidate for the Jets job last year after opting out of his contract with the Buffalo Bills. He had the Bills pointed in the right direction after resurrecting a dead Syracuse football program. He was also Sean Payton’s offensive coordinator in New Orleans from 2006-08. ...
