"Orange Nation,
For the second summer in a row the Syracuse Football Family is coming together to raise money and provide a voice for people whose lives have been affected by Brain Cancer. The football team will be hosting a Lift for Life Event to raise money through Uplifting Athletes for Brain Cancer Research. Since this time last year we have raised over $9,000 that has been donated for research and grant funding.
Uplifting Athletes is a National Non-Profit organization that has grown to nearly 30 chapters at different schools nationwide. Our goal is to make our Lift for Life a keynote event in the city of Syracuse and continue our team’s goal of serving the community.
This year, our Lift for Life event will take place on July 25, during our max out lifting in the weight room. The whole team will participate in this competition as an effort to maximize our impact and fundraise together. This event is organized with the Offense the Defense and the Specialists competing against each other to see which side can lift the most weight. However, part of the competition will also include which team can raise the most money, as the amount of money raised for each team will be factored into the final score.
Your support is needed to help us reach our monetary goal. Please click, http://give.upliftingathletes.org/events/syracuse-lift-for-life-2014/e34130, and make a donation. Feel free to donate to your favorite side of the ball to support your favorite player, or to make a general donation. Any amount is appreciated and your support is needed.
Please join us and help make our 2014 campaign the best yet. Together we can work to continue our mission to provide funding to researchers looking for cures and treatments for Brain Cancer. We appreciate your support and I know that the sentiment is shared throughout the Brain Cancer Community.
Together, We Are Stronger!"
*Uplifting Athletes is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization. For write-off purposes, use EIN: 34-1986485
** Checks can be made payable to Uplifting Athletes and sent to Manley Fieldhouse South, 1301 E. Colvin Street, Syracuse NY, 13210

I donated last year and will again this year as I lost a dear friend to this disease.

Dear Syracuse Supporters,
On behalf of my Syracuse teammates, and the rest of our Uplifting Athletes chapter leaders, I would like to thank you for your support.
The Syracuse Chapter recently held our signature fundraising event, Lift For Life, and it was a success thanks to your help on many fronts.
So far this year, our chapter has raised $6,099 for research in the fight against anaplastic astrocytoma, the chosen rare disease of the Syracuse Chapter.
Your support and financial contributions allow us to fulfill our mission of using the platform we have as college football players to raise research dollars and awareness in support of the rare disease community nationwide.
Please continue to spread the word about our event to your friends and family and invite them to become part of our support network. Our fundraising page will remain active through September.
Looking ahead to the 2014 season, we are preparing to run a Touchdown Pledge Drive campaign. We will make sure to send you the final details so all of our loyal supports have the opportunity to join our team to make this season a success on and off the field.
Thanks again!
Together...We Are...Stronger,
Sam Rodgers, No. 47
Syracuse Chapter President
