2,700 instead.

When they're anticipating a "crowd" (more accurately, "gathering") of that size, maybe they should scrap the big helmet and smoke machine. Seems kind of sad.

in all fairness, their fanbase hasn't been it's usual rowdy self without "little luke" ...they too have to rebuild

p.s - i couldn't possibly care less if every other game in the country was empty...I care about the SU fanbase, the one that complains about losing big games to a more significant market, then doesn't show up when they have a game. The same one that complains about winning, then leaves before the end of a game that the team is winning...

p.p.s - i'm not asking for a packed dome for stony brook, but there was some hype surrounding them with their two previous wins by large margins, and they have a decent amount of BCS talent on their team whether recruited there or transferred...it wasn't a throwaway game like URI was SUPPOSED to be, it was just an expected win...and that disappointed the fanbase.

when u.s.grant was approached by his generals and was asked what he thought gen lee would do he responded ---never mind what lee will do,tell me what you will do!!! read between the lines.

It wouldn't be so bad if there were actually 27,000 for Stony brook.

But to look at that picture, you wonder why these games are even scheduled. I guess it's pad the record and stick it to the seaosn ticket holders. If they made a rule that FCS games don't count twoard bowl eligibility, these games might go away but you'd have a lot more schools trying to get into FBS so they can sell out their kids and get those guarantees. That's so much more important than getitng a real shot at a national title.

Miami has never been a good sports town - college or professional.

Even the Dolphins have had trouble over the years - even during good times.

Looking at that picture, I wonder if the brass at SU have ever thought about putting up tarps in the upper corners? Some say it will make us look small time (like the Oakland A's), but it may help consolidate the actual people who show up to look better.

Thoughts?

That's actually not a bad idea. We average around-about 32-35k per game per season. Tarp off the upper corners and peel them away as needed.

Here is what is intereseting about CNY fans:
1. When SU is supposed to win - no sense going...boring game.
2. When SU is supposed to lose - no sense going...gonna get killed but maybe I'll go see how good that opposing team is.
3. When SU plays a comparable team - maybe I'll go...but we aren't a top 25 program so maybe not.

So how do you schedule your OOC games if you are SU? Seems to be a can't win situation.

On a game to game basis, I don't hate it. For a Big East game or nationally televised game, I don't like it, but for a game against an FCS or non-BCS school I wouldn't mind it.
