vs teams that finished the year with less than 5 wins, and I think it's safe to assume UVA will be in that group.

UVA is also the third worst team statistically SU will have played (end of the year results pending) in the same period. The worst was Akron in 2010, 1 win, finished 118th on offense, 99th on defense. Second was Maryland last year, 109th on offense, 95th on defense, still don't know how they won 7 with that level of performance, and we know how that game turned out.

UVA going into this game 1-4, 99th on offense, 99th on defense.

on the other hand, some stats rank uva ahead of SU

http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/fplus

UVA 73, SU 81

that's for the whole year, I know. but UVA is probably not that bad. they had a tough schedule.

i suspect UVA's offense really is pretty bad and their defense is maybe average. they're like our opposite.

LOL don't hurt yourself digging up those stats!

UVA is better than their stats as they have played a much higher SOS than we have. We just have t line up and beat them.

What was the SOS for those teams?

UVA has played a ridiculous schedule thus far.

To me its more about how SU comes out of the gate than our opponent. If the players are focused, have energy and playing at their best I will rarely come away from a game, win or loss, feeling that we stunk the joint up. The players realize this, based on the interviews post USF, and the coaches have to have the players ready and pumped like they were against LSU - this is regardless of whether LSU was over-rated or not, the team was pumped and ready to fight in that game. USF? Not so much IMO.

This is what I would like to see for the rest of the year to be a happy fan and to think we have turned some semblance of a corner. Don't care who the opponent is, just play and fight to win and execute at a high level regardless of the opponent.

Is 12-4 a good number? I would bet most decent programs have really good records against crappy teams.

that probably took him 90 seconds to figure out on cfbstats
