Syracuse. The Orange’s yardage production has declined every season since 2012, which is a big reason why Scott Shafer was canned. In comes Dino Babers, whose Bowling Green team was No. 4 nationally in total offense. It will be tougher sledding going against Clemson and Florida State annually than anyone in the MAC, but Babers’ offensive résumé fills Syracuse’s immediate need.

He also basically lists the whole ACC as a winner:

The ACC football profile has certainly been enhanced by the successes of FSU and Clemson and the recent HC hirings at UVA, Miami and Syracuse University.

We are in an excellent conference - very pleased.

ACC has a permanent seat at the big boy table. Which, as former Big East-ers, was all we wanted.

As much as I despise them, I'd add the VT Fuente hiring, combined with keeping Foster. VT hit a home run.

The league has put itself in a good place going forward.

how has frost been doing on the recruiting front? I read that he is getting lots of recruits, just not sure of the quality. Any of the gurus here care to chime in?

Couple of smallish but decent Florida offensive skill position players and a number of no-name JUCOS.

He has picked up a 5'8 running back, a 5'9 WR and 3 JC players

Juco makes sense, short term coach short term players

Imagine the amount of outrage there would be here if he was hired and those were his first recruits.

Yeah, even a mild improvement on 0-12 is probably enough to get him in the door at Nebraska if Riley blows it. And if Riley recovers, he could still be next in line for a SEC job. I think both Frost and Coyle made the best choice for themselves. Danny White on the other hand...

Kind of agree. If he went there because the recruits will be better he shouldn't have signed a weak deal. Kids know what's up. Might hurt him in recruiting. 0-12 is bad but what if he just gets the to .500? Is that enough?

I think there was more talent on that team than the 0-12 record would indicate. Things got off on the wrong foot, O'Leary retired, it just all turned into a mess. Going from 9 wins to 0 wins is something even GRob wasn't able to accomplish.

Perfect situation for Frost because no one will pay attention that he took over a team that won 9 games two years earlier. They'll see the 0 wins, so even if he wins 4 in year 1, he's a hero. And a bunch of Nebraska boosters can say look how much better he is than Riley who kept us out of a bowl!

If he's there more than 2 years, it will be a miracle.

I get that... And the Nebraska boosters will take swallow any good excuse to get him, I guess.
