Is the summer trip still on? Dates? When can the team begin practice before the trip?

HC Red said on ESPN Syracuse that they're staying in Cuse this summer. I'd imagine they go next summer with all the chips they're putting in on the '24 class .

Still a bummer. I felt like it would be a lower stress way for Red to get some game coaching without a ton of pressure. Probably not a huge deal but would have been good to get the nerves out and figure out a few things before the games count.

That was the most attractive part for me. Get Red some game experience before it counts.

Too bad it wasn't another Canada trip instead of Israel.

Dunno why they couldn't quickly cobble together another Canada trip in short order?

We could play the same teams as last time - Carleton is a legit test, and those other teams would give Red a chance to mess around with lineups and strategies with zero pressure.

Sigh. Opportunity missed.

I mean - doing a trip the following summer is all well and good, but -
Red really needs to get off to a solid start here, so I'd think doing a trip this summer would be a priority.

Canada is just so far away...
Would probably require some hustle to organize on such short notice. Too much effort needed.

I wonder if he doesn't want any distractions. Stay in the gym in Cuse and focus. Next summer they can/should do a trip.

Is there any limit on how many foreign trips a school can make within so many years?

Guessing maybe several other teams already have a Canada trip locked up?

I could be wrong but think you can only do these trips once every three years, so go this year you can not go next year.

Is there a reason why it has to be a foreign trip? I assume that’s the rule?

Why can’t Syracuse, Buffalo, Siena, Binghamton, etc. play some summer league games against each other, the way high school teams do?

Or even just scrimmage each other with no fans, TV, etc. but with refs and playing and coaching it like a game?

Save the foreign trip for when we have an international recruit/portal kid we want to get some NIL to

10 extra sanctioned practices - Need those more this summer, for the new system. Just set up an impromptu trip to Quebec.
