Last night before the Knick game they had a moment of silence for him. Walt Frazier spoke of him highly.

New York Times

During the 1945-46 season Cervi shared the Royals' locker room with a host of colorful characters, including stylish playmaker Bob Davies, 5-10 scamp William 'Red' Holzman, George 'Blind Bomber' Glamack and former St. John's star Andrew 'Fuzzy' Levane. Coming off the bench were All-American quarterback Otto Graham, major league catcher Del Rice and a two-sport athlete named Chuck Connors (later the star of television's The Rifleman).
