I think that's one sack per game, which would make sense since we've given up 3 on the year.

Just about to edit my post. Yes, that is it.

We've also only allowed one sack edit: per game, which is still pretty unbelievable.

Especially considering their defensive line is going up against a blocking sled at center.

Dam...my sarcasm meter seems to be broken. You're not serious...right?

A jr high 100 lb blocking sled at that!

Hopefully the Macky doubters can now give credit where it's due.

He seems to be a hard working, good character guy. It would be amazing if he got drafted or signed as a rookie FA

Pretty cool. Things to note: we are in the bottom 20 in FBS (out of 120 teams) in net punting, punt returns, and kickoff returns (we all know it's bad). We've also only allowed one sack edit: per game, which is still pretty unbelievable.

I'm assuming this stats are as accurate as can be.

20th in the country in sack percentage (sacks per pass attempt).

That's against two BCS opponents without the best OL and four guys with no prior experience manning three spots. Pugh takes LT, Hickey slides over, Foy/Trudo keep improving. Upside

GO, you're being kind. It's moronic.

Yes, because it's moronic to not be happy to see that we have to go in the shotgun so much because our starting center was being pushed back in the quarterback at the snap.

If his last name was anything else do you think he'd be on this team or playing FBS football?

Are you being serious right now? Macky's been great this year, and I think we're going from shotgun so much because our scheme dictates it...

I guess we went shotgun on the very first snap of Marrone's first game plan because we were worried about Bartholomew getting pushed back into Paulus.

That post right there is such a great reminder of how far we've come.

Do you even watch the games???

Completely serious question.

Seriously?

Ok, then for the sake of ending this ridiculousness...

Macky is the greatest center of our generation.

Sorry that anyone has a different opinion based on watching the same games. Because God knows that never happens.

Regardless of your opinion, Macky is not a problem. In fact, he is a strength of that line.

A reasonable person who watches the games would clearly see that. Your "opinion" is wrong.

Here's the thing about Macky...

Very few OL guys are really ready to play after just one year in their program. Macky probably played too soon, in too prominent a role. Add in being undersized and well... yeah, he was at a disadvantage last year, it showed, and it put the line at a disadvantage at times. There's nothing wrong with acknowledging that, or acknowledging that it was problematic that there really wasn't an alternative.

This season he's playing a lot better. He's got two years under his belt, and he's added some size. It's not surprising that he's performing better, because he's playing at a better time and under better conditions.

The question is, is the pain of last season from the center position worth the production we're getting this season and next?

SU has run 292 plays

1. Probably 290 have been shotgun, how many bad snaps?

2. Out of that 290, there have been three sacks and 11 other tackles for loss.

How can you be complaining about the center?

In an ideal world, Macky probably doesn't play last year, but I'm not sure we had a much better alternative and it's very likely that Macky isn't as good this season without that experience.
