Look, i question decisions and mistakes during the game in the heat of the action based on frustration that something was missed.  But, i have the ability later to realize that these guys can't always see what i can see from section 335 while im not being chased by a 300lb DL with 21 other guys running in mutliple directions. And also, that the coaches are intimately involved with the team and have an idea of what has a better chance of working short and long term with players. 
I learned a long time ago as an ROTC cadet that not everyone responds the same to disciplinary tactics, incentives and punishments. In time, I also learned that what works one time for a person probably won't work every time.

Benching a QB midway through the 3rd quarter might appease the fans but be the worst thing for the player and the team.
