They knew they could throw on those guys at will. They were forcing the run to challenge the OL. The defense rushed four and played coverage on purpose in the first half.

They were putting Kerr on an island to see what they have no sense in hiding him. Lots of miscommunication, need to get that fixed.

I doubt they are scheming Miami like they did today.

Brown wants to be a team that can impose it’s will, and he tests them.

Not sure if this is true but I know you have an eye for the game and I like what you're saying.

So we were kinda mediocre on purpose?

It’s ok, Cuse didn’t play great… they can next week and win… but this is some mental gymnastics.
‘They out gained them by 200 yds, forced 4 3 and outs, 6 punts total, another turnover on downs in the 4th, gave up two drives of 10 or more plays and a bust TD. 5 of 15 on 3rd The defense was fine.

Offense struggled running and still scored 31 pts and gained 538 yds. Didn’t have a 3 and out until 17 minutes left in the game. Only punted 3 times. 8 of 17 on 3rd. That’s not mediocre.

The game was closer on the scoreboard than it should have been, but they dominated that game.

But go ahead and run down an 8 win team.

Where in my post was running them down?

i just find the whole Fran ACSHULLY was playing 4D chess to be a far more negative take than what I said. Completely goes against everything he said about this game.

The offense was great and could throw on them all day. Defense was fine? Also not running the ball well against UCONN isn’t really a good thing. I was never nervous about the result I agree there.

I didn’t say not being able to run was a good thing, that they tried to close the game and couldn’t when they could have just kept passing tells me they were working on it. If they want to beat Miami it has to be better than it was today.

They got away from what was working easily, they did that for a reason.

Fair enough

We will be somewhere between 10-3 and 8-5 st season's end. What will determine the final result will most likely be how good our run game is and how well the secondary holds up.
Don't have a lot of hope for the run game and tge secondary will give up points. McCord needs to have great games to outscore them.
Who knows?

I don’t think this is what one does when your team is in game #11.

We didn’t put them away because we lost some focus and got sloppy. It’s what Fran literally said pregame that we’ve done a lot this year.

It happens. I don’t think it means anything for next week. Slate is wiped clean and we play another game.

I think they got away from what was working because football coaches think running is what should be done when you’re up 14 in the 4th quarter. We just couldn’t do it well.

I really don’t think it was some kind of purposeful challenge or whatever. I also never thought we’d lose

If Coach Fran wants to test his team, how about he challenge them to develop a killer instinct? Get up 3 touchdowns and slam the door shut instead of playing around trying to run the ball.

If Barron doesn’t make that incredible shoe string tackle, we are looking at a 24-21 game in the 3rd quarter and a fight on our hands.

"If X didn't happen then the score would have been Y" could go a lot of ways, but it is odd how this team struggles to stay on the gas and put games away, even the Holy Cross game was the closest FCS game we've had since Colgate in Dino's first year.

Two touchdowns taken off the board helped keep it close. We are the better team.

Before the game Fran literally said the team doesn’t handle success well and needs to develop a killer instinct. Which is why I don’t buy that he was purposefully screwing around to prove some esoteric point.

running fake punts and goofy sideline deception doesn't strike me as exceptionally confident

I think that's just an optimistic way to say it was a trap game. Which, it kind of was. Miami warrants more than a week of tape.

I'm with you on that. I rarely deal in the hypothetical, but watching that play live, I thought the UConn kid was gone to the house. The fact Barron reached out and barely tripped him up from behind was incredible.

I missed that quote. I agree, obviously. Haha. Seems like a much better way to challenge the team rather than an "impose your will" test.

That Barron play was critical. Even without it I think we still win the game but it would have been a lot more uncomfortable.

We threw for 5 bills, missed 2 FG’s and had 2 tuddies pulled off the board. I love schloberknockers too. But we won, mission accomplished.

We’ve struggled to really put 4 quarters of high level execution together all year. But, we’re winning more than 2 out of every three.

I’ll take the dub and keep it moving to the biggest matchup of the year. We’ve got an opportunity to play spoiler for a once bitter rival.
