Fran will probably be just over 500 as a head coach at the end of the season. I doubt he gets a serious look at a big boy job.

I think Fran made the point this week that Syracuse is a big boy job.

This is why you gotta love Fran! While we’re not currently, and haven’t been historically, as big of a program as Penn State. Don’t openly admit to it and settle for what is considered success at Syracuse. Fran has consistently said that the stage is as big as the people who are on it.

Who’s to say what success at SU looks like? Who says that we can’t become a top program at any moment? Clemson wasn’t Clemson before Dabo. Indiana hasn’t been significant until Cignetti. With investment and the right coach the sky’s the limit at Syracuse, just like most places.

Even if you don’t truly believe at Syracuse is a top program at the moment, don’t go around with a defeatist mindset like Dino. Perceptions can change in an instant.

I haven’t watched the whole presser but when Fran said “It’s disrespectful to even ask that”, that’s honestly, the answer I would want. Idk why more coaches don’t respond like that when asked similar questions. Essentially they’re saying Syracuse is less than, how would you react to be considered by a university that’s way better?! FOH.

I think Fran made the point this week that Syracuse is a big boy job.

I love me some Syracuse football but we aren’t in the same stratosphere as penn st and that’s ok. Lots of coaches are being turned of by this Nil era and the crazy expectations at the big boy schools. We’ll make Fran rich and give him a statue on campus if he wins 8 to 10 games most years.
