Look at that kid. What a difference maker he was this year. Absolutely phenomenal.

There's a couple wins Syracuse doesn't get if he doesn't play. He bulked up. He has speed to spare. He runs great routes. He snags just about everything thrown at him, no matter how much he has to adjust/contort. The kid is just a freak. Has to be one of the best slot players I have ever seen in a Cuse uniform. And he outshined some more heralded receivers on the other side of the ball (Restrepo is one example)

Thank you, Trebor. You're a straight killer who doesn't get enough credit or recognition. So I'm giving you props now. Let's do it again next year

Amazing football player. Was the 3rd most important player on the offense. Maybe 2nd tied with LA.
So versatile, so tough and clutch. Total Dog

He was fantastic all year and adds such a great wrinkle to the offense. Very Erv Phillips like in that respect, both former 2 star tweener types that excelled here.

Largent as in Steve Largent? Please. Pena was great this year, but that comparison is hyperbolic, to say the least. Largent is one of the greatest receivers in FB history.

Pena’s style and how he was used, reminds me of Julian Edelman.
Yup - Yoda. Now you see him now you don't. Peña does that. Maynard could get free like that, too. Hyperbole... lol

I thought his ceiling was what we saw in 2022 - 22 receptions, 203 yds. Just a guy who will get a couple catches here and there. People can try, but I don't think you be any more wrong about something than that. There has to be some award for that?

Will be amazing if we get another year usually these guys develop and then leave.

McCord was the biggest surprise but he is 2.

Ah, we mostly knew we were getting an elite QB with Kyle.

Trebor previously had some flashes but I don't think anybody woulda expected him to finish w/ over 900 yards receiving this year.

Especially w OGII, LQA, and we thought Zeed, and Hatcher, and JRS, some of the other guys we all speculated would end up being the top receiving threats.

Meeks and Trebor were both very pleasant surprises this season.

Pena seemed somewhat lost in Dino's system and throwing the ball up the middle just changed everything.

People can make comparisons without meaning one is as good as the other, you know? I don’t think anyone in their right mind is saying Peña is as good as Steve Largent. These takes are some of the most frustrating on this board and people trying to make honest comparisons get roasted for them.

Pena also missed most of 2023 with an injury.
True. Still, I think this system was perfect for him and last years would have had him running the sidelines for passes. Plus the back shoulder balls would have never been a thing.

I think he would have taken a larger step last year if not for the injury. However Dino’s system didn’t appear to really exploit the routes Pena excels at. And I think we all have to acknowledge that McCord’s ability to throw back shoulder really plays well into the skill set of guys like Meeks and Pena.

This. I didn’t factor Kyle in because we didn’t know what we were getting with him. With Pena, we went from pretty much punt returns to HOLY ****SKI!
