question.

After his interception, Fredrick was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct. Not sure of the cause.
Was it because of not wearing his helmet? It was ripped off by the receiver.
Was it for running around the field with the ball? Or for throwing the ball into the stands?

All of the above?

He was pretty excited about that takeaway.

It was for throwing the ball in the stands, as that's the straw the broke the refs back. ;) It was awesome though, and worth it as the game was over for all intents and purposes. He did it to salute all of us fans in the stadium as it was quite the sight on Saturday afternoon! :)

How large was the contingent of syracuse fans at the game? One point, towards the end of the game, there was a “lets go orange” chant audible on tv and they showed dino pumping his fist in rhythm with the chant in the direction of the crowd. It was a cool moment.

That and didn't he practically take a victory lap around the field?

Well, if there was 25,000 in that stadium, I'd say 8-9K SU fans. We sat behind the SU bench side (in the sun :)) and maybe 3/4's or more of it on that entire side of the stadium were 'Cuse fans. It was so frigging awesome. We made the short 100 mile drive up to Winston Salem from south Charlotte...straight up I-85 from the I-485 loop.

The "Let's Go Orange" chants throughout were many and quite boisterous. It was as if, closing one's eyes, you were actually in the Dome. Just crazy fantastic!

Dino did, quite notably for several seconds, salute the huge Orange contingent in the waning moments of the game...it was incredible!

That's why I commented in another thread about him "taking notice" (in a negative fashion) on a potentially low Louisville turnout Friday night in the Dome and a reason for him to bolt to some other school because of same, as pure hyperbole BS!

There were a couple shots where you could see a LOT of orange on that side. Was a thing of beauty. We typically show well in that state (lots of transplants), which is why I'm surprised the Belk won't take a chance on us some year.

Bates the color commentator cracked me up on that one... He sarcastically said "So taking a victory lap around the stadium isn't allowed anymore?"
Bates had some good one liners in the game.. but I also luved his Rob Burnett mention. Said his dad coached him on the Browns.

Burnett was a great player for Syracuse and had a great NFL career.

Yep, I saw from TV that Dino was loving the crowd chant. First time I have ever seen that.

I think Dino is starting to realize with a re-energized fan base, Cuse Alums and former locals have the ability to take over every stadium in the ACC not named Doak Campbell or Death Valley (or whatever VT calls there’s). We have enough Alums and Locals that have migrated south for better jobs/warmer weather over the past 30 years to make an impact.

Just watch a round ball away game in the winter Dino... unless its UNC or Duke... its 30%+ Orange!

The potential is there to have a top 5 home field noise level and a very good ACC “traveling” crowd as well.

Yep this is the positive, alternate post to one I just made in another thread.

Our fans everywhere are willing to go the extra mile...there don’t seem to be enough in the vicinity of the Dome to fill the place. It’s a conundrum

Our loud visiting contingent was exacerbated by the fact that the Wake Forest fans on the other side of the field and the students absolutely cleared out at half time. By the end of the third quarter SU fans outnumbered Wake Forest fans in the stadium.

It was great to see and it was awesome to see Dino recognize it. The players were pretty hyped up for the last 5 minutes because of it and the Fredrick INT.

Great day all-around!
