Rochester native Jon "Bones" Jones became the main man in the fast-growing sport of mixed-martial arts. The 24-year-old UFC light heavyweight champion defended his title three times and probably is the biggest draw in the sport today. Ironically, he can't fight in his native state because New York is one of the few states that still prohibits mixed-martial arts shows.

no surprise with Smallwood.
The worst thing about this is that we missed out on some very good looking prospects because of our committment to Smallwood. What a waste of time and effort!!

Things like this are what is holding the program back from where we want it to be.

Wish him well, but honestly, I'd rather the scholly go to someone with more upside and a better chance of actually making it here.

If Emerich plays well in his all star game, he very well may get that third star. He has a good senior tape, and is one of those fringe 2-3 star players. It will be interesting to hear from Big Bob after the game to see his thoughts.

I don't think this is necessarily true...When Marrone was asked specifically at one of his lunches about Smallwood still coming, I believe he said "I don't believe he will be here"..They have known this for quite some time, which was before we started turning away recruits..Has to be grades..

I'm talking about the 4 years we wasted. Two in recruiting him the two years holding a spot for him for 2 years and the very fine prospects who wanted to come here and are now helping more successful programs than ours.
