Fridge steps down as RU OC

Was he expecting Flood to fail so he could slide in as HC? I'll admit it, I was. BTW, my first thought when I saw the thread title was William Perry!

Well, if he's still staying on as an advisor, he doesn't appear to have any philosophical differences with Flood he doesn't want a bigger/better job.
It sounds like he's just a 67 year old guy who's basically ready to retire/slow down.

I'll hold judgement until Lester has had a full year with Spring football, but you may be right.

Or it's a face-saving move for all involved? More likely that McDaniels was getting feelers from the pros and this was the way they were going to keep him. Fridge gets paid and it doesn't look like Franklin/Maryland, Pt. 2 to outside observers.

i agree but also can hurt ya

I think I remember reading about how he had issues even leaving his house for a while. Was kind of sad all things considered. Hopefully this isn't him repressing himself from the public eye again.

What are we basing this on?

Nothing, of course. This guys has less OC experience than Lester as he has only had 1 year as OC at Columbia (FCS/Ivy League).

Lester started his coaching career in HS as an OC and has also been a HC.

But his brother is successful in someone else's system!

i wonder if tom brady would look good in our system?
Brady's not the same QB when he gets hit and has to scramble around a lot. He's the master of the dink and doink game though, which would leave some board posters screaming about the absence of a vertical passing game, stretching the field, lack of arm strength, etc.

Typical Rutgers OOC schedule: Norfolk State, Wash. St., Kansas, and Army, with a combined 14-34 record last season. All they need is 2 BIG wins to be bowl eligible.
