as the ncaa investigation of the 90's by a long shot. That investigation dragged on. recruits were being told that we were going to be put on probation and out of the NCAA tournament for 4 years. No kidding (P.C.). There will be no lack of institutional control here. The U did have an outside firm do their investigation. Recruiting willbe hurt this year (goodbye Noel). But I really believe it will be limited to that.

Ummm, cheating is one thing, Child abuse something else altogether.

please, I am talking about from future recruiting. This is way worse from a life point of view. This is real life.

Dont even try to talk basketball. The holier than thou crowd will just shout you down as if us as a fanbase talking about our team is indirectly raping little kids.

There is no evidence for anyone being raped under age of consent yet but yea, the media will make it worse. They already interviewed every single SU recruit to ask them about allegations. The constant hammering of them by reporters will make it worse. Some Scout reporter: "So I see you listed Syracuse in your top 5, are you not concerned that assistant coaches are rapists over there?". Well probably not worded like that but with the same implication.

Plus other coaches can use it to recruit against us now.

The potential problem with all these previous investigations from the national media perspective is...

BSK and SU are joined at the hip business relationship (and alums) wise..The SPD and the county DA are suspect as far as a thorough investigation is concerned, local bias, favoritism..

ESPN?...who knows why they sat on the story...if they had the 2002 tape for any length of time?

I think there's going to be a measure of skepticism about the previous investigations...not unlike the skepticism about how the PSU incidents were investigated/covered up.

Not saying the story warrants that skepticism...just saying.

True, I'll be avoiding the Florida game "Conversation" thread at ESPN like the plague!

It ain't good. As a parent, would you let your kid go to a program where this has taken place? You'd fear NCAA penalties, lawsuits, and you'd fear the unknown...especially the unknown. Send your kid to Duke and get rid of all your worries. As long as JB is around there will be a stigma. Somehow your competition will work this into a discussion. Any parent would direct their kid elsewhere.
