(1) Still surprises me that PSU supporters still feel their school is a victim:

"Hopefully there will be lawsuits filed to prove the NCAA was out-of-bounds and the sanctions will be removed, but until then we need to fight to hold on to everything that is good about Penn State and being a member of the Big Ten is very good."

(2) I am also surprised that most of the responses to this article are pro PSU moving to the ACC. I don't think it will happen but these fans certainly don't feel the affinity to the B10 that they do toward more traditional rivals even after many years in the B10.

Unless the B1G kicks them out, PSU is going nowhere.

Tradition counts for something with some fans. I don't think the football fans of PSU are all that happy with their Big 10 situation. After the initial rush the high has worn off. PSU's administration is another story.

I still think that SU, Pitt, WVa, BC, Penn St, and to some degree Maryland, have a historical eastern tradition that a lot of fans from all those schools miss.

Let's face it the Big East was never stable enough to really form new historically long lasting rivalries (in football).

Realignment might be financially beneficial for schools, but I can't help but feel that losing historical rivals dampens some of the excitement for the fans.

I like this post from a PSU fan. He's making a lot of sense...

I disagree. For starters, in the US News and World Report on the top 50 colleges, 5 are in the ACC (counting Notre Dame), and 4 are in the Big 10. Guess what? If Penn State joined the ACC, it would have 6 of the top 50 colleges, and the Big 10 would have 3 (since we were ranked in the top 50).

Our Alumni would love to bring back the traditional rivalries of Pitt, Syracuse and Boston College, and would love the short travel time to schools in Maryland, Virginia and North Carolina. This would make it easier on all our sports teams budgets. Also, who wouldn't like a nice November game in Talahassee or Miami?

All the Notre Dame fans in Central Pa. would love any of the sports contests against the Irish, and that might include an occasional gridiron battle. Basketball and baseball are far superior in the ACC, although some sports like Hockey, Wrestling and Volleyball would be hurt.

If I was a PedSt fan, I would want to be a member of the ACC under it's current construct.
