To be fair, he built them to that by going head to head against the established programs like Tennessee with Pat Summitt, but it's not like he played in a league sending 50-75% of its teams to the tournament annually with half the league making the final 4 over the course of a decade. While he was establishing the program there just weren't as many programs vying for the attention of media or recruits, and he wasn't running a gauntlet of a schedule despite going out of his way to schedule top OOC teams.
