I suspect that Alford lacks financial discipline and the money people are withholding major donations until Alford either rights the financial ship of the FSU Athletics Department or there is a new, financially responsible adult running the AD.  Most people with big money earned it, they do not want fools managing their earned money.  With Alford's extension of Norvell and the ridiculous buyout, it is hard to believe that he has real management and negotiation skills, especially when we discover that Alford was secretly trying to woo Kiffin

Let's not forget that Alford sold the FSU BOT and money people on the con that FSU could get out of the ACC quick and easily and join the SEC.  FSU remains in the ACC.  Though the GOR and exit fees were renegotiated FSU cannot leave anytime soon, paid large legal fees, lost money, lost good will (neither the SEC nor B1G wanted FSU as a partner based on Alford's conduct).  Simply put, Alford does not give off vibes of being a prudent executive, Alford's recent track record is less than impressive.
