1. Crowd looked bad considering SU was hosting the #1 team in the nation. Tells alot about the mindset of the fan base. Here's hoping the last few week are as bad as it will be for Shafer.

2. Either this team took some pride and got a LOT tougher since the Louisville game or FSU had better look out for the Cards. While I believe the team showed something today, I would be nervous if I was an FSU fan. Louisville appears to be a much tougher team.

3. While everyone wants to give credit to AJ Long, I think the biggest difference with the offense was the play calling. I felt like the weapons we have were used to their abilities and we did not ask them to do something they are not equipped to do (like a sweep pitch to AAM). Kudos to Lester.

4. Speaking of Long, I love that we have a 2 or even 3 QB race. Too many QBs is a problem we need to have. Personally, I love a kid like Long who comes to SU even though Hunt was returning and sets his mind to win the job. Every team needs kids like that. Enthusiastic about the future of Ishmeal too.

5. That 2nd Bye week cannot come fast enough. The team is down in terms of numbers due to injuries. Here's hoping Miller and Lewis are OK for next week and some of the other guys come back soon.

6. Speaking of injuries, how great was it to see John Rayman recover that fumble? He deserved it.

7. Red zone: Probably more of an issue with confidence and repetitions at this point. This might as well be a new offense; I'll give them a pass against FSU too. Lets see how they progress with this new scheme going forward.

8. Next week really is a must win against Wake.

We've played a friggin gauntlet of defenses. ND/Ville defenses are up there with the best in CFB and FSU is pretty good too.

I think our offense will take off with the change at QB, change at OC and some drastically lesser competition in 5 out of our remaining 6 games.

The youth movement on offense is showing that there is some serious talent coming up through the pipeline.

The defense is bizarre since they can dominate teams with average talent but get absolutely annihilated by anyone with 4/5 star offensive talent.

4-2 down the stretch is doable with what I saw today. A bowl game would be huge to salvage this season.

Sorry, but I don't but it. I did not think the play calling was that stellar. Most of the same plays, but the passes were on target and the blocking was better. I thought there were plenty of bad play calls. We'll see how it plays out but there was nothing special out there today just better execution. The difference was Hunt not missing receivers and making bad decisions.

agree with above, but fsu is not a number one team, not nearly like last year. nd will beat them soundly.

Perception of this game is going to be really interesting. There were some definite differences and a few creative twists I really liked, but for the most part that wasn't a dramatically different offense in terms of scheme.
