I get the argument that the ACC provides an easier path to the playoffs, but when you have a rival school in Gainesville cashing SEC checks I think that all goes out the window. I think the population shift may have been been a bigger boost academically than ACC membership, sheer numbers allow them to be much more selective. They joined the ACC in 91, since then the state population is up 70%, while NY is up 9%. There's a lot of smart kids applying to state schools in FL. FSU would probably fall in the upper 3rd in the BIG in spite of not being an AAU school. [/QUOTE]
