Syracuse needs to be competitive in the sport that drives the dollars.  Don’t confuse that with spending like Alabama or Ohio State.  I am sure Rutgers, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, Northwestern and others like them appreciate the revenue they are receiving for being in their respective conferences without having to spend.  Their other athletic teams appreciate it too.
