Thanks, Hoo's. Most, if not all, of the article has been discussed here, and presumably other fan sites. The comments by Petitti, Sankey, and Bowlsby are telling. Neither the B1G nor the SEC see any advantage in moving forward, they are better off holding out as long as they can until others catch up, make as much money while you can before you are forced into pro-style arrangement. (Discussed on this site extensively) Bowlsby plainly stating that if the number of a super league is too small, former powers will be diminished, which will affect other revenue streams, though they my get an increase in TV revenue. The fact that private equity is demanding up to 30% of revenues is indicative that the money will not come from profiteers. That is 30% off the top, before expenses are deducted. Think that a school pulling in $100MM in revenue will pay $30MM to a PE firm and them pay their bills from the remaining $70MM. Can PE ensure enough revenue bump to pay the 30%? Probably not. FSU found out the hard way that PE plays for keeps (keeping profits high, anyway). FSU made a show of their initial discussions with PE and then was largely silent once they saw the numbers and requirements. The best plan forward for SU (and UVA, other ACC Schools) is to improve football, beat the SEC and B1G on the gridiron (and to a lesser extent, the hardwood court).
