FSU vs VTech week 1

What outcome helps us the most? FSU enters every year with national champion aspirations so this game, one way or another, will set the tone for the first half of their season imo.

You dont think A 1-1 FSU is less motivated? Seemed like 2-1 LSU was impacted last year. Less people showed to the game, team was playing down to competition instead of dominating as they should.

I just think it’s worth discussing as a week 1 loss would be pretty devastating to FSU’s bca aspirations as they have little room for mistake when racing clemson.

Obviousy everyone would prefer beating a 2-0 FSU at the dome. I, however, will take whatever may be easiest and result in the least injuries. A potentially demoralized 1-1 FSU entering a hostile dome may give us a necessary edge. Either way, we’re dogs and hopefully they’ll be looking past us.

I think it depends on if they are strong mentally or weak mentally.

If they are strong mentally then we want them to be 2-0 with hopefully some "overconfidence" and overlook us.

If they are weak mentally then we want them to be 1-1 because that will likely break their will, particularly as soon as they get down by 10-14 points in 1st half.

I actually think it doesn't matter though, because this is the game I have marked off as our marque win for the year and I don't give a damn what their record is.

1. They are in the dome
2. New Coach, new scheme, more thinking than playing (which is amplified by our pace)
3. Most of their veteran players will have their focus on the draft rather than the final year of a less than expected college experience
4. We will be relatively healthy after only playing 1.5 games.
5. The game will be Dungey's 19th in the system, well into the 2nd half of the 2nd season
6. This group of FSU players is used to seeing Cuse at game 8-11 when we have a skeleton roster, this crop of lads will surprise them
7. Did I mention the loud house? I'll be there with a screaming 13 month old! will you?

They're coming off a 6 win season and a change in coaches. I don't think they'll have that first game loss devastation that would come with your typical FSU season.

They get a cupcake the next week to feel better before they play us.

Guys, 1 loss by week 3 isn't demoralizing for just about any team outside of the top 4. They wont be demoralized by a opening weekend loss.
