I hear what you're saying. I do miss those 30 win seasons, heck, those 25 win seasons. However, I know I had a much better feeling after the 2016 final four season than the 2013-14 season when we started out 25-0. That loss to Dayton temporarily made me forget about that Ennis shot at Pitt. Can we have both, haha?Which is why regular season success is the better metric and why I hate when people say only the tournament matters. The regular sseason is not meaningless simply because a huge segment of the idiot media decides to ignore college basketball before March.
Exactly. I agree with all of what this guy is saying. If Kihei Clark doesn’t make that crazy pass against Purdue and a few other magic moments from Kyle Guy, Ty Jerome and Diakite, Tony Bennett is still a big fat March Madness loser. And Matt Painter has his first Final Four.
He is spot on and used two really good examples. I forgot that Beilein was still there for the Poole shot against Houston.
I had a better feeling after 2010 and 2012 and look back more fondly on those that 2016. 2014 felt like fools gold to me, so I don't see that the same. I could tell by the way we were winning that year we weren't quite as good as our record and the tournament was our regression back to the mean.I hear what you're saying.
