We're in the waiting days of the CBB calendar, so I thought I'd post this quiz I stumbled upon online as a challenge to anyone who wants to take it up. It's a quiz testing your ability to match 200 NBA players with their alma mater in 15 minutes. I got a 83%. Pretty good, I think, but I'd be interested to see what posters on here can get. It's a bit dated, but that just makes it more fun!

That was fun. I got 171/200. Knew each one instantly but struggled to type & also kept abbreviating the school names, i.e. Zona, NCST, even typed "Sparty" lol. Funny, they accepted "Pitt" & "Cal".

I saw a few players that played for multiple schools. I recall Will Bynum, wonder if they would've accepted Arizona or Georgia Tech? Also, Dahntay Jones (Rutty-Duke). Come to think of it, I typed Kansas for JR Giddens & it wouldn't accept, he obviously transferred to New Mexico.

Could've had 174 but on Ewing, Iverson, & DeJuan Summers I accidentally typed "Still Sucks".

It was funny, there was a couple that I knew but couldn't nail down... For Patrick O'Bryant I knew it was a one name B team, so I tried "Bryant" and "Belmont." For Chris Kaman I put Western Michigan, those stupid directional Michigan schools... The two that surprised me most were Ricky Davis and Antonio McDyess, I could not remember for the life of me, was not close. Most frustrating was Cuttino Mobley, as soon as I saw the answer afterwards I was wondering how I missed an easy one like that! I would love to do the test for this year's rosters!

Damn, I wasted too much time typing in St. Mary's, Pacific, Loyola Marymount for Steve Nash. Couldn't come up with Santa Clara for the life of me.

I also forgot that Gerald Henderson existed and I'm pretty sure I've never heard of Sonny Weems. All things considered, I earned that 82%.

I used to play Sporcle quite a bit, so that is a big advantage. You learn when to stall and not to. Also so many scrubs played for the Toronto Raptors over the years that I was able to get some real average players (i.e Pat O'Bryant)

Missed:
Brandon Roy
Courtney Lee
Rodney Carney (I was sure he was SEC)
Jrue Holiday (I was convinced he was Tennessee)
Leon Powe (Don't remember him at all in either NCAA or NBA)
Renaldo Balkman (I remember he was an unknown in the NCAA when the Knicks made that stunning pick)
Tyreke Evans
Kevin Martin

Sonny Weems - I only knew him because he was a scrub with the Raptors who they gave a lot of hype to.

The year immediately post Bosh was sad as a Raps fan. 2 things were marketed:
1) Andrea Bargnani - that pathetic bum.
2) "The Young Gunz" - the group of Sonny Weems, Amir Johnson, Ed Davis, and Demar Derozan, had a bunch of "Young Gunz" material.

Damn we sucked.

I got 183/200. This is right up my alley as I have a strange obsession of knowing where NBA/NFL players went to school. Missed 3 guys that were Alabama. Kept typing in Arkansas & was getting mad at the quiz for not recognizing the "right answer." I have no idea why I did that.

That was a good Sporcle Quiz by the OP.

Here are some that are abou Syracuse basektball (I am sure they were posted here at some time in the past)

Without giving away too many spoilers:

On the long one I only got 82 of 86, it was kind of weird for three of those walk-ons to be on there (the three that I missed, of course) and the creator of the quiz missed Earl Duncan. I forgot about the lanky Rochester kid who helped ruin the program.

There are some errors on the starting lineups (Shumpert as a starter in 2000? Harris over Wright in 2007?), but it's easy enough to get a perfect score because multi-year starters fill most of those gaps.

As for the difficult one, it's pretty difficult for anyone didn't see some of those guys from the '50s and '60s. I got the first 21 and 30 of the top 31, then the misses started to pile up. Probably could have done better than 70/100, but I didn't consider that Ron Payton types would be in the top 100.

I only did the starters quiz since 1994 -- I missed 4 of them. Felt shame.
