With Clemson winning the NC so dominantly, would it be possible if say an 11-1 Syracuse that only loses to Clemson to get into the 4 team playoff, having not been getting that extra game in the championship.

I mean Alabama won a national title from that position.

That is the SEC superiority complex that I saw take a big hit in the mouth last night. Little 'ol Syracuse was an ineligible downfield and a 4th and 6 conversion away from beating that team that just shellacked you Alabama.

We will have our chance vs Clemson at home . However tbh they lost there qbs both games and we kinda snuck up on them ( yes even this year ) but next year they will be fired up . But but but we will be home in a PACKED DOME with the most important thing you can have and that’s CONFIDENCE and a BELIEF WITH EVIDENCE! Bring that other orange team on ! Let’s gooooooo

Unlikely. Our schedule probably wouldn't be strong enough to get into a 4-team playoff with a home loss and no conference championship.

Even if we lost to Nd and Pitt, but beat Clemson we’d had won the Atlantic, and faced/beat Pitt in acc championship. Then what? 11-2 acc Champs. Hard to say.

I think when we play Clemson, it should be for the right to wear orange when we play the following year. That would be fun. Kind of like a trophy game.

What we do have going for us, however, is that we were beating both when the starters were in. Clemson scored more with Brice at QB than Lawrence.

Unless there are a lot of other ACC teams we beat who are unexpectedly strong I don’t see any way we could make it at 11-1. As much as I would love the playoff more than life itself, if next year is a repeat of this year, we would get the Orange Bowl and I will take that in a heartbeat. However, in the meantime, screw that let’s beat Clemson and go 13-0!
