Frankly, Funderburk stands out in the crowd physically from SU’s other receivers unless Ashton Broyld (6-4 229) joins the group. He is taller than his peers and possesses excellent speed and hands.

Quinta will go down as the most important recruit that Doug has landed to date. Im not saying the best but the most important. The reason for this is simple. Next season with Sales and Lemon gone we have nothing behind them but some promise. Sure Quinta has done anything either but he has the creds and the look to be our best reciever since Mike W. I think that he becomes our number one reciever next year from day one and i also believe that over the next three years he proves to be one of the best to wear orange. In looking at his film he just jumps off the screen. Big fast fluid great hands.

No question, Funderburk is going to be important as hell next year and step into an important role Day 1 he is eligible.

But I have a feeling that Marrone's most important recruit is going to prove to either be Broyld, Wilson, or Allen.

Also remember, not only are Sales and Lemon gone after this season, but so is Ryan. 2013 will likely see either Loeb, Wilson, or Allen at QB. If SU is going to start a freshman (or Loeb), and thus a player without legit D1 experience, you want to provide them with as much offense around them as possible. Quinta will be a big part of that.

As the article points out, Funderburk is our main scout team receiver. Now that is some quality depth for our DB's to practice against.
