Here is whom I would like to see us schedule moving forward OOC:

Navy / Army (every other year type deal Navy odd years, Army even)
Temple / Buffalo- they are a much improved programs (same deal as Army / Navy (odd - even)
ECU - some history with them, like once every four years
ND / PSU - obvious reasons

whom would you like to see OOC in the future?

Army and Navy are popular choices for many programs, particularly in the northeast.

1) One high profile game: PSU at top of list
2) regional team: RU, UConn
3) Navy/Army type game

With 9 ACC games, the schedule and payout is way better and SU should try to schedule Meadowlands games on an away/home/Meadowlands or home/away/away/Meadowlands basis if possible.

Navy joins the BE in 2015. 3 of their 4 OOC slots will always be filled with Army, Air Force, and ND.

I'd love a trip to West Point, but Army is always booked a decade in advance.

When we join the ACC, we'll only have room for 3 OOC games a year ... and we're committed to playing in the Meadowlands every other year.

Unless we're planning on facing 11-12 BCS opponents a year, we'll have to have some cupcakes.

OOC game #1: Colgate if they have enough schollies to count as a W

OOC game #2: WV or PSU or ND

OOC game #3: Army or Navy or Temple or UB or RU or UConn or UMass

Love the idea of Army. Even a road game would be cool. Great place to watch a game and would get good support from NYC alums.

I am in favor of playing name teams both home and away.

Navy would be a good addition to the schedule as well. ECU, Temple, Buffalo don't do much for me.

Screw ECU for not honoring the game at the Dome a couple yrs ago. Terry Holland bought his way out kinda like we screwed Wyoming. If we are going to play at Boise State next year I would play at Wyoming the week before or after and make good on the deal we signed with them.
My ideal OOC for us going forward with a 9 game ACC schedule is
game 1- tomato can I-AA
game 2- Buffalo, Army, Navy level school
game 3- legit BCS opponent.
We should be playing 10 BCS schools a year. The fact is right now we only have 9 BCS opponents on the schedule next yr N'Western, USC, Minny, and the 6 Big East opponents with only Stoney Brook the only non BCS team on the schedule. The last 2 games should be 1 decent opponent, and 1 tomato can.

Huh?

Syracuse honored the contract with Wyoming. Depending on how schedules develop and the expected challenge/result of the game things sometimes don't go to everyone's wishes. Texas did play the Pokes on the road, for example.

We screwed Wyoming. The deal was a home and home and they played at the Dome and we bought out the return game. We shouldn't have signed a home and home if we weren't going to return the game. I realize it would have been a tough expensive game, but we screwed them by buying out the return game. Virginia, Ole Miss have played home and homes with Wyoming so its not like Syracuse was doing anything unusual. Texas played Wyoming but it was a 2 for 1. ECU did the same thing to us when they owed us a game at the Dome. Terry Holland only wanted to honor the game if we agreed to a longer series with them and Dr. Gross or Jake don't remember whom was the AD said no, so ECU bought out the game they owed even though remember being really young and SU playing at ECU like 3 years in a row. I was always disappointed with Dr. Gross for buying out that Wyoming game they bailed us out with a home game we needed and then did what WVU did to the BE and leave a hole in their schedule. That is why even though it won't happen I would play the game @Wyoming if we are going to play @Boise St next year. Obviously it won't happen but I can say it.

You must want SU to stay in the Big East for the full 27 months. Wouldn't want you to accuse SU of "screwing" the BE.

Wyoming came out great...got $200k from us and fell into a home n home with Texas.
I'd like to see:

1 Annual High Major Home/away/MetLife
1 Army/Navy/USAFA/MAC/low-middle mid-major CUSA or nBE dreck
1 Baby Seal (like Colgate after they go to 60 scholies)

I wouldn't want to screw our partners without them being okay. My god what an arrogant douche comment. I wouldn't want to leave before the Big East had a chance to get its business in order which will be 2013. I am okay leaving after next season as the Big East will have 5 new football schools and will have enough members to be a conference. Excuse me if I actually care about Syracuse doing the right thing.

Wyoming got a 2 for 1 from Texas. http://www.wyomingathletics.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/040408aaa.html
After opening the three-game series in Laramie in `09, Wyoming will travel to Austin, Texas, twice for road games on Sept. 11, 2010, and Sept. 1, 2012.
We didn't honor our agreement that is my point just like East Carolina did to us.

Leaving after next season is still breaking the contract. Technically, SU should be stuck in the Big East until the 2014-15 season.

Odd that you're OK with SU exercising a buyout option to leave the BE early, yet you're not OK with SU exercising a buyout option against Wyoming.

Contracts get bought out and games get cancelled all the time.
