Below is a trip down memory lane with Dennis Dodd of CBS Sports rating the new head coach hires of 4 years ago.

The top-rated hire was fired after going 2-26

His #2 rated hire has gone 13-19 in the SEC finishing no higher than 4th in the SEC West over 4 years

One if his two #4 rated hires left for a "better job" quicker than you can sneeze

#7 just left a few weeks ago so he could take the Wisconsin job

#9 also moved on to a better job almost instantly

#12 has been fired

#13 was fired (Though he did win a national title, albeit with a paid-for QB and a roster full of Tommy Tubberville's players)

And our very own Doug Marrone was rated the worst new hire, #14.

I like how you give **** to Hoke and Andersen even though they did well.

Generally it's not a good hire if the guy leaves in a heartbeat... Hoke was at San Diego St. for 2, count em, 2 seasons... And had an overall record of 13-12... Yes his 2nd season was pretty good, but he immediately bailed... Not sure the AD hires him if he knows ahead of time that the moment the Aztecs win, Hoke's a goner.

Prior to this season, Anderson was 16-22 at Utah St... Not exactly lighting the world on fire... Of course, he has one winning season, makes his FIRST bowl game and jets off... Again, not a great hire if he doesn't even stay to see one class of freshmen graduate.

And there's no double standard here... I feel the same about Marrone... A little taste of success and he left... Kinda sucks, no?
