Throw in peoples jobs (mine being one of them) where its impossible to travel in the month of december (mostly because of our stuffbag president and his awful health care law but thats for another topic) and traveling to a bowl game even in nyc isnt happening. I havent even mention cost which for some people is also an issue. Going to a 2 and a half hour basketball game is doable. Giving up an entire day based on what i mentioned for some people is hard.
