#0 5' 8" 16.2 PPG/ 3.6 RPG/ 2.6 SPG/ 2.1 AST Rutland High School's Anna Moser has been named Vermont's high school girls basketball player of the year, Gatorade announced Thursday morning.
Moser is the first player in program history to earn the Gatorade honor, which recognizes outstanding athletic excellence, high academic achievement and exemplary character.
The 5-foot-8 sophomore guard averaged 16.2 points and 3.6 rebounds per game this past season, leading Rutland (16-6) to the Division I Final Four. Moser also averaged 2.6 steals and 2.1 assists per game. She's earned a Dream Dozen selection from the Vermont Basketball Coaches Association in each of her first two seasons in Rutland.
“Anna is a player that can burn you from any spot on the floor,” said Brattleboro coach Karen Henry, in a Gatorade press release. “She moves well without the ball, creates her own shot and her driving ability is unmatched.”
