Class of 2020 SG/SF Nate Kingz (OR) TRANSFERRING TO SYRACUSE (4/2/25)

Kingz has been a third or fourth option. He only took 8 shots a game last season. Starling was our first, and sometimes it felt like only, option. Starling would be a lot better shooting if he was only taking wide open threes… maybe not Kingz good, but better.

Starling jumped from 11.7 shots as a sophomore to 16 as a junior. He also was our de facto point guard much of the season. Nobody is as efficient taking that many shots, while playing out of position.

I would like to see Kingz get more shots and Starling get less if they are playing together next year. Either way, they shouldn’t be sharing point guard responsibilities. Hopefully Fennell is good, and our transfer point is very good.
I think this is a great and accurate post. JJ was definitely inefficient this year but he was relied on to do so much and to do so many things that with better offensive players, especially a better PG and SF around him I think he can improve his efficiency and usefulness tremendously

Incredible story. Will be rooting for him regardless of his landing spot, but could definitely see him thriving here. Interesting note at the end about his brother, in the process of changing his name to “Carmelo Kingz”!

Hopeful this works out for both sides

It's not like coaches get a grocery cart, roll through the portal throwing dudes in it that they have on their shopping list, and head to checkout.
I think you're wrong. I spotted this yesterday.

And, he is an incredible story that we should ALL get behind. He would instantly become my favorite player. He is playing for something way more important than anybody else.
What would that story be? Apparently I skimmed past it.

Go back to the story someone posted regarding the changing of his name. Sorry, I can't remember who posted it. But, this is a kid that had a rough upbringing and he has devoted himself to basketball and his grades to remain eligible.
Wherever he winds up, he’s going to receive NIL money the likes of which he could only dream as a foster kid struggling through the system.

One time the system worked… well enough, at least.

Shocked if RJ Luis doesn’t go pro. Not sure if getting players with multiple years of eligibility is much of an advantage as every year is a renegotiation.

Luis strikes me as someone who should def portal somewhere. He was basically not on any draft boards and can paid real well for someone in college next year.
