Felt like the D played well.. Bent some but did not break but still left feeling they were a bit lacking in some areas.
Drive 1. Ohio played most if the drive in 2 TE sets. This is why the had a bit of success running as it was really 7 on 4 for the first half of this drive.. One 3rd and long we rushed 4 on 7 and played 5 across a 2 deep.. Williams got a bit out of wack and let the WR get under him for the 1st down.. we turned around and stuff the next set of plays and again on 3rd and long played 5 across 2 deep. this time we forced the crossing route and stopped it short.. the pass rush got a little pressure from the 4 man rush but no one cleanly beat anyone..
Drive 2; after the botched return. Again 2 TE set. ohio blew several blocks and we got the safety, But first time we really saw the D attack and it paid off
Drive 3. 1 TE set but the big running QB is in. poor tackling on this drive. had the qb for 2 and he pushed for 5.. 2nd down had the RB for a loss and he ran for 7 dragging people.. the the PF call instead of 3rd and long its now 25 yds down the field. now they switch the QBS and we continue to go very light ion the box. we only had 6 guys with 10 yds of the LOS and they are blocking 6. Bad angle by Barron and another 1-2 yd play turns in 7. needs to keep his leverage on the WR and that play is dead.. then Chestnut nice play on screen to make 3rd and long. Again went 5 across 2 deep not sure what the safety was doing. Left a 10 yds cushion on a play the WR curled and there was no one else on the side of the field to worry about.. We had a 2 deep. This sets up the QB pass play. we are in man so not sure has the QB here but if you are bringing pressure and thats the call its gonna work most of the time. Back 2 TE set from the 10. Stuff the run, then on 2nd they ran a crossing route we covered it well and really had the sack just didnt get him to the ground. Then stopped them again with a 5 man rush but got the Penalty for hitting the QB. Crushed the RB and the QB on the first play then stopped them again,
so thru 3 drives Played almost all soft zone, sent five 2-3 times and got some pressure from that.. Other than 2-3 tackles Ohios offense was from a couple mistakes in coverage by the safeties and a couple of Defensive penalties.

We blizted and caused a dump off. 3rd and long. again rushed 5 but dropped one back missed the sack then dropped the INT by Williams

thats as vanilla as it gets and after re-watch even more vanilla than it seemed live.. Didnt realize we played man so few times.
