School placates the students who like to wear multiple uniform combinations. It's a strange hill to die on for a university that should pride itself on tradition and consistency.

The students don't get to choose where their classes are held. The players should really have minimal say on how the team is dressed for a game.

As a much younger fan, I was at the game with my Dad when the blue jerseys were first broken out in the 60's. The visiting team, I forget who, didn't get the memo and showed up with their "away" jersey rather than their "home" jersey. The game was delayed while SU dug the blues out of whatever mothball closet they were kept in. The look caught on.

Personally, I miss the days of all white home jerseys because I enjoyed seeing the visiting team in their home uniforms. I would like to see white home jerseys at least once a season, but I do love the blue jerseys!
