James Southerland. Dirty came up huge for us tonight, and absolutely deserves our game MVP.

I have been really impressed with how much better he's been on the glass and defensively the last month or so. It is like someone finally reminded him he's a 6-8 stud athlete. He could very easily become our best rebounder.

At this point, we won't go far without Dirty.

At this point, we won't go far without Dirty.

Agreed. His ascent coincides with a bad slump by CJ that is getting disturbingly worse. He is struggling to hit the rim from 10 feet these days. KJ has also mysteriously lost the ability to shoot anything other than layups and sometimes free throws.

In the spirit of not hijacking this thread, yes, South gets the game ball. He's been playing really well this year; it's almost a bonus when his threes are falling. (Today, we'd have lost were it not for that bonus.)

Back to that hijacking idea, can anyone name a better wing defender in Boeheim's zone than Southerland? I can't think of one. In the decade that we've been a zone-only team, I really think he might be the best.

I wish JB would sit Joseph for Southerland rather than Fair. Even if Fair is off shooting he still competes for rebounds Kris doesn't fight hard for rebounds. I like this lineup DW-BT-JS-Fair-RC
