Garrett Shrader Interview | Wake

Still couldn't figure out why they let him play and why they let him play so long vs. FSU. Let’s face it, even with a healthy Shrader we're probably not beating a resurgent FSU. Let it ride with CDRW and get Schrader as healthy as possible for more winnable games vs. WF and BC. Should have kept him out and let a healthy CDRW give it his best shot vs. FSU. I think Shrader was further compromised by playing vs. FSU. He could have used another week off to heal that ankle.

“There’s always that element of doing what you can do” … when Matt Park outdoes you in terms of energy that’s not good

guys a warrior. watch the clip in the interview his first run his ankle buckles as he starts to run. No idea why they haven't been resting him the last two games. Does anyone know if he is coming back next year.

Every time he is interviewed he plays. I agree it was a mistake for him to play against FSt or past the first quarter. He still does not seem 100 percent healthy. Even though he will still be limited running the ball maybe the Oline will give him time to throw.

With a healthy Shrader playing like he did early in the season, I wouldn’t just concede the game to FSU.

True, about Shrader. Getting gashed by the run vs. FSU was my biggest worry and it happened. The D was bad vs. FSU because they were on the field so much because the offense was non-existent.

It was clear from the very first series that Shrader was far from "healthy" against FSU.

All playing him did, was set his recovery back even further.

Yes - it was the first game where our D truly struggled, but having zero O didn't help matters.
It never does.

We've been woefully ineffective on O since the 2nd half of the Clemson game.
(with a brief spurt of success when CDRW came in vs ND)

yes, that has been the story the last 3.5 games, the offense has been absolutely miserable. 3 TDs in that span, all against ND, one of those TDs in garbage time, 36 total points. Cost us the Clemson and Pitt games. We would be looking at a 9-3/10-2 season if the offense was simply mediocre

I don't mean to be defeatist, but can coordinators possibly have any answers going forward when the offense is that dysfunctional? These last 3 games have been GRob era bad

Brian Pariani and Rob Spence called...they said the offense looks great

When you lose your #1 QB around whom the offense is built, it doesn't matter how much depth you have, or who the second string QB is, of what offense rejiggering your coordinators try to implement. The offense will be crippled until Shrader is back at reasonably close to 90%. I hope it's this weekend.

Unfortunately, I believe this will be his last season before trying to go pro

There’s three different leagues of pro football now but college is still bigger than 2/3 of them. I’d be shocked if Garrett didn’t return for one last season, especially with such an easier schedule for 2023.

I just do see him getting a chance after this season maybe in one of the other leagues but certainly not the NFL. Id love to see him return for another year as i think he can improve his passing and if so maybe make a team

It will come down to NIL guarantees. Is the scrap man serious about helping football or just trying to increase JB’s leverage? I guess we’ll find out in the off-season.
