Gary is the Mets play-by-play guy and they were having a discussion of mascots. Gary said "Of course they could always do what Syracuse did with Otto the Orange: just make him a big Orange blob."

1. Otto IS a big orange blob.

2. But he is OUR big orange blob, dammit.

3. At least he's well-known and gets SU into mascot conversations and contests. We could be one of the 14,000 schools that had a wildcat as a mascot. That'd be boring.

Otto is the greatest mascot out there, hands down.
Gary is the best baseball PBP guy out there, hands down.

Was at a work function on the Party City Party Deck in the outfield at Citi. Mr. Met walks by surrounded by security and kids are going crazy. Mr. Met doesn't stop for a second. Mr. Met is an a****** and Otto the best mascot in sports. It's not even close.
